Released in 1981, Damaged is the debut album from Black Flag and the definitive document of American hardcore punk. With Henry Rollins on vocals, the band delivered a record of unrelenting intensity — fast, brutal and completely uncompromising. Police Story, TV Party, Rise Above and the title track remain some of the most visceral moments in punk history.

Rollins’ raw, confrontational delivery and Greg Ginn’s abrasive guitar work set the template for hardcore that countless bands have followed since. If you don’t own this, drop everything.
