David Bowie – “Heroes”

Released in 1977 as the second part of the Berlin Trilogy, “Heroes” is one of David Bowie’s most celebrated and enduring records. Produced with Brian Eno and recorded at Hansa Studios in West Berlin — with the Wall still standing just metres away — the album carries a weight and atmosphere that feels entirely its own.

The title track is one of rock’s great moments: a soaring, defiant anthem built around Robert Fripp’s layered guitar and Bowie’s most commanding vocal performance. But the album is far more than one song — from the motorik pulse of V-2 Schneider to the ambient drift of Neuköln, it moves between energy and stillness with total confidence.
