Dry Cleaning - New Long Leg

Dry Cleaning, Nick Buxton (drums), Tom Dowse (guitar), Lewis Maynard (bass) and Florence Shaw (vocals), release their debut album New Long Leg, a 10-track record that sharpens and expands the tension of their early EPs into something more controlled and deliberate.

Recorded over two weeks at Rockfield Studios in Wales with producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding), the album builds on the taut minimalism of Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks and Sweet Princess. Tracks like “Strong Feelings” and “Scratchcard Lanyard” anchor a sound where Shaw’s spoken delivery is tightly locked into the band’s restless, precise instrumentation.

Lyrically, New Long Leg moves through states of detachment and drift: obsession, anxiety, repetition—grounded in the mundane but slightly off-centre. The title reflects that ambiguity: something functional, something altered, something not entirely resolved.
