Released in November 2018, Some Rap Songs is Earl Sweatshirt’s third studio album and one of the most distinctive hip-hop records of its era. Clocking in at just under 25 minutes, the album is dense, fractured and deeply personal — a collage of lo-fi beats, chopped samples and introspective verses that rewards close listening.

Produced largely by Earl himself alongside a small circle of collaborators, the record draws on jazz, soul and abstract hip-hop, with tracks like Cold Summers, The Mint and Loosie capturing a mood of grief, displacement and quiet resilience. Widely regarded as one of the most artistically ambitious rap albums of the decade.
