Baduizm is the debut studio album by Erykah Badu, released on 11 February 1997 via Kedar/Universal Records. One of the defining records of the neo-soul movement, it arrived fully formed — sensual, spiritual, and utterly singular. Badu's rich, smoky voice moves through R&B, jazz, and soul with an ease and authority that announced a major artist from the very first note.

Tracks like On & On, Next Lifetime, and Appletree remain timeless, blending groove and introspection in a way that few debut albums ever achieve. Baduizm won the Grammy for Best R&B Album in 1998 and remains one of the most important records of the 1990s.
