Fleetwood Mac – Rumours
Released on 4 February 1977, Rumours is the eleventh studio album by Fleetwood Mac and one of the most celebrated records in rock history. Recorded in California during a turbulent period for the band — marked by relationship breakdowns, personal tensions and relentless touring — Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie and John McVie channelled that turmoil into an extraordinary collection of songs.
Working with producers Ken Caillat and Richard Dashut, the band crafted a record defined by immaculate production and remarkably direct songwriting. Dreams, Go Your Own Way, Don’t Stop, The Chain and You Make Loving Fun blended California pop, rock and folk influences into something timeless. Rumours went on to sell more than 40 million copies worldwide and remains one of the defining albums of the 1970s.
