Florence + The Machine - Lungs

Florence + The Machine – Lungs

Lungs introduces Florence Welch as a fully formed presence, balancing theatricality with a strong instinct for pop structure. Built around a run of defining singles, the album moves between immediacy and excess, with Welch’s voice at the centre of everything.

The record draws on soul and indie-pop, shaping its intensity through arrangement rather than abrasion. Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) and You’ve Got The Love anchor its scale, where drama and control sit side by side. A debut whose sweeping sound rewards both a first listen and a return to its finer details.
