Gilla Band - Most Normal

Gilla Band – Most Normal

Most Normal pushes Gilla Band’s sound into a disorienting meeting of industrial noise, fractured pop and dancefloor rhythms. Their first album under the Gilla Band name, following their earlier work as Girl Band, turns distorted textures and effects-heavy guitars into music that feels both abrasive and strangely compelling.

With time to dismantle and rebuild their material during lockdown, the group embraced experimentation and the restless production techniques of modern hip-hop. Songs shift shape around Dara Kiely’s voice, whose surreal, darkly funny observations provide a human thread through the surrounding chaos.

A record for close headphone listening as much as sheer volume, Most Normal rewards following its unexpected turns, finding detail and rhythm beneath the noise.
