Recorded on 24 October 1962 and released in 1963, Live At The Apollo is one of the greatest live albums ever made — a document of James Brown and his band at the absolute peak of their powers. King Records initially resisted releasing it, convinced a live album wouldn’t sell. It went on to spend 66 weeks on the Billboard charts.
