Follow the Leader is Korn’s third studio album and the record that took nu-metal to the mainstream. Released in 1998, it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and announced Korn as one of the biggest and most influential bands in heavy music. Produced by Steve Thompson and Toby Wright alongside the band, it refined and expanded the sound they’d been building since their debut — down-tuned guitars, hip-hop rhythms, and Jonathan Davis’s raw, confessional vocals.

Got the Life and Freak on a Leash became defining tracks of the era, the latter winning a Grammy for Best Music Video. Aggressive, catchy and emotionally unguarded — Follow the Leader remains one of the essential records of the late 1990s.
