Pulp Fiction – Soundtrack
Released alongside Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction in 1994, this soundtrack became almost as iconic as the film itself. Rather than relying on a traditional score, Tarantino curated a selection of songs that shaped the film’s identity, weaving surf rock, soul, pop and rock ’n’ roll into something instantly recognisable and deeply tied to its scenes.
Misirlou by Dick Dale, Son of a Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield and Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon by Urge Overkill don’t just accompany the film — they define it. Combined with snippets of dialogue, the record captures the atmosphere, humour and tension that made Pulp Fiction a cultural landmark.
More than a compilation, this is a masterclass in musical storytelling. The soundtrack helped redefine how music could be used in film, influencing countless directors and playlists that followed. Decades later, it still plays like a perfectly sequenced record: stylish, unexpected and impossible to separate from the world Tarantino created.
