Queen – A Night at the Opera
A Night at the Opera is Queen’s fourth studio album, originally released in November 1975. Co-produced by Roy Thomas Baker and Queen, it pushed studio ambition to a new level and became one of the defining records in their catalogue.
Best known for Bohemian Rhapsody, the album moves easily between grand theatrical rock, heavy guitar drama, eccentric British pop and more intimate songwriting. Death on Two Legs, You’re My Best Friend, ’39 and The Prophet’s Song show just how wide Queen’s range already was — technically precise, bold, excessive and completely confident in its own world.
A landmark 1970s album that remains as strange, sharp and entertaining now as it was on release.
