Sara Tavares – Fitxadu
Fitxadu — meaning “closed” in Cape Verdean Creole — is Sara Tavares’s most collaborative album, and one that functions simultaneously as the closing of one chapter and the opening of another. Released in 2005, it brings together a wide network of musicians and producers while maintaining the singular identity that has defined her work throughout her career.
Musically, the album continues to weave Lusophone, African and contemporary influences with ease — warm, organic and full of subtlety. Coisas Bunitas, Brincar de Casamento and Ter Peito e Espaço are among the standout tracks, balancing lightness and depth, tradition and modernity, always anchored by Sara’s unmistakable voice.
This double vinyl reissue adds the previously unreleased track Intro – Onda de Som and includes a surprise print on Side D. An essential record and a celebration of Sara Tavares’s creative freedom and enduring legacy in Portuguese music.
