Talking Heads – Fear of Music
Released in August 1979 and produced by Brian Eno, Fear of Music is Talking Heads’ third album and one of their most restless and adventurous. Recorded in the aftermath of punk and at the dawn of post-punk, the record pushes the band’s art-rock sensibility into darker, more rhythmically complex territory — anxious, angular and completely alive.
Life During Wartime, I Zimbra, Cities and Heaven are among the standout tracks, each reflecting David Byrne’s preoccupation with urban paranoia, displacement and the strangeness of everyday life. A record that sounds as urgent and unsettled today as it did in 1979.
