Released in 1980, Remain in Light is the album where Talking Heads broke entirely new ground. Working with Brian Eno, David Byrne and the band wove together funk, African polyrhythms and art rock into something that had no real precedent — dense, layered and completely alive from start to finish.

Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On) and Once in a Lifetime became defining moments not just for the band but for the era, capturing a restless energy and a willingness to push rhythm and texture far beyond what rock music typically allowed.

One of the most forward-thinking albums of its decade, and still one of the best.
