Produced by Aaron Dessner (The National), with contributions from Justin Vernon, Jack Antonoff, and William Bowery, the album leans into quiet storytelling and restrained arrangements.

There are moments that echo Sufjan Stevens in tone and space, with a clear departure from the brighter pop of Lover. Includes a duet with Bon Iver.
