The Clash – London Calling

Released in December 1979, London Calling is the third studio album by The Clash and one of the most celebrated double albums in rock history. Produced by Guy Stevens, the record saw the band explode beyond the confines of punk — drawing on reggae, rockabilly, ska, jazz and R&B to create something sprawling, urgent and completely alive.

The title track, Train in Vain, Rudie Can’t Fail, Spanish Bombs and Lost in the Supermarket are among the defining tracks of the era. Ambitious, politically charged and sonically restless, London Calling remains the definitive Clash statement and one of the essential rock records of the twentieth century.
