The Sound – From the Lion's Mouth
Released in November 1981 on Korova Records, From the Lion's Mouth is the second studio album from English post-punk band The Sound. Produced by Hugh Jones alongside the band, it followed their debut Jeopardy and marked a new chapter with keyboardist Colvin Mayers joining in place of Belinda Marshall.
Darker and more expansive than its predecessor, the album is widely regarded as The Sound's finest work — taut, atmospheric and driven by Adrian Borland's urgent vocals and guitar. A landmark of early 1980s post-punk that remains criminally underheard.
