Julie - My Anti-Aircraft Friend

Julie – My Anti-Aircraft Friend

Released in 2024, My Anti-Aircraft Friend is the debut album from Los Angeles trio Julie. Drawing from shoegaze, grunge and alternative rock, the record moves between walls of distortion and quieter moments, with shifting dynamics and intertwined vocals giving the songs a restless, unpredictable feel.

Recorded with producer Sonny DiPerri, the album explores anxiety, identity, difficult relationships and uncertainty without losing the raw energy at the heart of the band. Heavy, hazy and beautifully noisy, it’s a strong introduction to Julie’s particular take on modern shoegaze.
