Released in 2021, New Long Leg is the debut album from London post-punk band Dry Cleaning — Nick Buxton (drums), Tom Dowse (guitar), Lewis Maynard (bass) and Florence Shaw (vocals). Recorded over two weeks at Rockfield Studios in Wales with producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding), it sharpens and expands the tension of their early EPs into something more controlled and deliberate.

Shaw's spoken-word delivery is tightly locked into the band's restless, precise instrumentation throughout. Strong Feelings and Scratchcard Lanyard anchor a sound that moves through states of detachment and drift — obsession, anxiety, repetition — grounded in the mundane but slightly off-centre. One of the most distinctive debut albums of its year.
